Alan Ritchson has become a star from his role as Jack Reacher on Amazon Prime, but he has yet to translate that success to movies. Here he plays delivery man Hank Malone. When bringing a new healthy liver to a sick girl, he is attacked by mercenaries who want the organ for themselves.
This felt like a throwback to the buddy action comedy that was popular in the 1980’s, with Ritchson having great chemistry with Owen Wilson, the medical courier. It is a welcome return to form for Wilson who has not done anything of note for a decade.
Director Scott Waugh keeps the action going with some bloody and brutal action scenes, which of course, Ritchson is perfect for. There is little that is new, but it is a fun time and hopefully an indication that its star has a future on the big screen.
