Zendaya and Robert Pattinson star as Emma and Charlie,  a couple who are about to get married. Days before their big day, they are on a night out with their best man, Mike, and maid of honour, Rachel, and the conversation turns to a question – what is the worst thing you have done? Emma’s answers shocks everyone, putting all their relationships at risk.

I had numerous problems with Kristoffer Borgli’s alleged black comedy. First and foremost, I really disliked both Emma and Charlie, finding them insufferable. The second biggest one is Borgli’s smug screenplay. It felt like he was so pleased with himself for coming up with such a provocative premise. If the point was to examine what you can accept or forgive in a partner that you love, there would be much more nuanced and subtle ways of doing it.

The story spirals in absurd ways to a ridiculous ending, but what it does have in its favour is a tremendous performance from Alana Haim as Rachel. She manages to make her feel like a relatable, fully fleshed out, human being. Meanwhile, Pattinson mugs endlessly and Zendaya can do nothing with her part.

I am sure that this mess will be loved by chin stroking pseudo intellectuals, but I found it pretty dumb.
