Amber (Alison Brie), the manager of a restaurant in California, wins an all-expenses trip to the franchise’s educational immersion program in Italy, a place where she thinks she may also find love. In Pisa, she meets the chain’s wealthy and charismatic owner, Nick (Alessandro Nivola), but events do not go as planned.

For a film released with so little fanfare, this has an impressive cast. As well as Brie and Nivola, Aubrey Plaza, Fred Armisen and Molly Shannon appear in supporting roles. I am sure all of them had fun filming this in Italy but it is horrible to watch. The plot lurches around, unsure of its tone, with none of the supposed funny bits hitting the mark. None of the performers enhance their reputation and Shannon is plain embarrassing.
