This British comedy has quite a star-studded cast, despite an obviously low budget. It is set in the middle ages where an arrogant Queen Dagan (Aimee Lee Wood) has to flee for her life after being toppled from her throne by a charismatic revolutionary, Humble Joan (Nicola Coughlan).
I feared that I would really dislike this in the early stages. It felt cheap and the acting hammy. Thankfully once Dagan goes on the run with her one loyal servant, Shulmay (Lolly Adefope) there is a distinct improvement. They soon meet up with the impoverished Bobik, played by the very funny Nick Frost and a number of laugh-out-loud moments follow. There is one particularly great sequence when the trio try to dispose of a body.
The laughs fizzle out towards the end though, so Seize Them finishes almost as poorly as it starts. Very uneven, but enough chuckles to make it watchable.
