A stunning documentary co directed by one of my favourite cricket journalists, Jarrod Kimber, with Sam Collins, this is really one of the highlights of my viewing year. Starting out as an examination of the future of test cricket, the creators became involved in uncovering a scandalous takeover of the game by the Indian, English, and Australian authorities.
Brilliantly put together, presenting a complex story in a clear way this is as gripping as any thriller you will see this year, and in Giles Clarke, there is a villain more oily and detestable. Also featuring some excellent insight from the great Gideon Haigh and fascinating contributions from Australian batsman Ed Cowan as his test career starts and stalls, I can’t recommend this highly enough.
