When army commando Amrit (Lakshya) finds out his true love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is engaged against her will, he boards a New Delhi bound train in an attempt to stop the arranged marriage. But when a gang of knife wielding thieves led by the ruthless Fani (Raghav Juyal) begin to terrorise innocent passengers on his train, Amrit has to save them. Then when tragedy strikes he goes on a revenge fuelled killing spree.
Kill definitely delivers visceral thrills. Director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat provides an almost endless stream of breathless action sequences. They mostly involve hand-to-hand combat and they are crunchingly effective. There is a lot of blood and some very inventive kills. Also, I am partial to a movie set (almost) entirely on a train, so I enjoyed that aspect.
There are, though, some problems. Those include the usual action movie trope of the hero getting pummelled and stabbed numerous times but still able to climb up the side of the train and despatch loads of bad guys. That comes with the territory but more of an issue was the dialogue penned by Bhat and Ayesha Syed. Some of the quips are cringeworthy and the hysterical reaction of the gang members when they find the body of one of their comrades, breaking down, demanding to know why he is dead.
That aside, this is a cracking, fast moving good time, best seen on the biggest screen possible.
