Set one year after the first film, Piper Rubio returns as 11 year old Abby Scmidt. When  she secretly sneaks out to meet up with her animatronic friends Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, she sets into motion a terrifying series of events.

I was not a particular fan of the first film. It had a good set up but came across as a much inferior version of Willy’s Wonderland. This sequel, though, is a complete mess. It is an incoherent mish mash of half formed ideas and devoid of scares. It is often pointed out in horror films how someone running at top speed cannot get away from a killer walking slowly. That flaw is magnified here with the lumbering creatures reliant on people stumbling or falling over.

I did not have a problem with Abby in the previous film but in this sequel she is incredibly annoying and frustrating, with the rest of the cast not compensating, apart from Wayne Knight who provides a couple of amusing moments as a committed science teacher.

Despite my misgivings, it is on course to be a big hit, and a follow up is in the works, but this is where I bail out.
