Free spirited surfer, Zephyr (Hassie Harrison) is abducted by a crazed serial killer, Bruce Tucker (Jai Courtney). She has to find a way to escape his boat before he performs a ritualistic feeding of her to hungry sharks just as he has with many women before her.
There seems to be no relenting with the deluge of shark movies. This is the first one to get a theatrical release but there have been number on streaming services. It has the benefit of a pretty original plot that might stretch credulity but generates some tension.
Harrison makes for an appealing and resourceful heroine and Courtney does unhinged very well. The climax is not as thrilling as it could have been and this is not in the league of Jaws, of course, nor Jaws 2, The Shallows or Under Paris. But it is a solidly entertaining addition to the second rung of shark movies.
