Following the death of her estranged father, Iris (Freya Allan) learns she has inherited a run-down pub. She does not realise that an entity called Baghead, that has the ability to temporarily bring dead people back to life, resides in the pub’s basement.

Screenwriter Lorcan Reilly and director Alberto Corredor really struggle to come up with anything new or particularly scary. The pub itself is quite creepy but the setting is not used as well as it could be and the premise seems too familiar for anyone who saw Talk to Me last year. Also, the way the demon looks and sounds feels very derivative. Also, I found myself distracted by the setting of this in a Berlin that seems to be populated by only people from Britain and that the pub is called The Queen’s Head!

Allan does a decent enough job, though Iris is a very unsympathetic character, Ruby Baker is quite good as her friend and Peter Mullan is wasted in the role of her Dad.

Just about passable, though its hard to see how it avoided a straight to streaming release.
